Clovis Adult Education offers a robust Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program that combines rigorous academic and clinical training to prepare students for a career in healthcare.

The program, available in full-time and part-time formats, is structured to accommodate different schedules and learning preferences. Full-time students complete the program in 6 weeks with classes running Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, covering 220 hours of instruction. Part-time students have the option to attend for 13 weeks, with classes held Monday through Thursday and some Saturdays, allowing for morning or evening schedules to suit various needs.



Program Details and Registration Process

The course is designed to equip students with essential nursing skills such as resident care, vital signs monitoring, nutrition, rehabilitation, and emergency procedures. The total cost for the program is $1,000, with additional expenses ranging from $500 to $700 for books, health requirements, immunizations, uniforms, and state exam fees. Registration for the program opens annually, with specific start dates in February, May, and September. Prospective students must complete a series of steps including passing the TABE placement tests, attending a mandatory orientation, and submitting a detailed application package.

Admission Requirements

Prospective students interested in Clovis Adult Education’s CNA program must meet the following prerequisites to be considered for admission:

Must be 18 years or older

Pass the TABE placement tests in reading (score of 442) and math (score of 449)

Provide a valid government-issued photo ID (CA License preferred)

Have a valid Social Security card or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN)

Obtain an American Heart Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR card

Complete health requirements including a physical examination, immunization forms, and necessary vaccinations such as the flu shot, Hepatitis B, and COVID-19 series

Undergo a background check and fingerprinting
